The HJ WATERJET HP Seal Backup Sleeve, Intensifier, 60K (HJ-B-1002-2 or HJ-100018-1) is a precision-machined cylinder liner for the high-pressure sealing system inside waterjet intensifier pumps operating up to 60,000 PSI (4,100 bar).
The HJ-B-1002-2 or HJ-100018-1 HP Seal Backup Sleeve is installed within the high-pressure cylinder assembly, where it acts as a structural support sleeve behind the dynamic seals, preventing deformation and extrusion of sealing elements under extreme pressure conditions.
In ultra-high-pressure systems, seals alone cannot withstand the force generated by the reciprocating plunger. The backup sleeve provides a rigid containment surface, ensuring the seals maintain their geometry and function properly throughout each pump cycle.
